So Long, Our Tennessee Home

Hey Folks,

We're headed out, hitchin' up, flying the coop.....  I could go on but I'll spare ya.  The time has come for us to return to Utah and this Saturday we'll be headed in that direction from Watertown, Tennessee.  Not a moment too soon either as the Volunteer State is essentially in a deep freeze.  Heading northwest to warm up sounds like a good plan.

Really?

Our stay here has been one of our most memorable, and I say that in only the best way.  The people of Watertown are what make it unique and a good reason why this little place is on our short list of towns to settle in when the time comes.  LuLu's 'World Famous' Coffee Shop on the town square will be sorely missed -  as will the incredible home cooking from Gabby and Ron.

All of the people I worked with at the gas company here have become friends that I'll stay in touch with.  It was also extremely nice that we were close enough to my new granddaughter, Anna-Kate, in Huntsville, so that we could visit a few times.

On our departure, we had been looking forward to heading east a bit to first visit my mother and step-dad Mel in the mountains of Eastern Tennessee but it isn't possible with the icy road conditions in that direction.  Safety first, as they say, and practicing an abundance of it has paid off over and over again for us.  Mom and Mel, we'll see you as soon as we can.

We've factored in a couple of extra days so we don't have to be in a hurry and can stop at a few places to take in the sights.  Just like last year, Margo will be keeping the camera close at hand and getting the shots for our cross-country post that we'll put together when we arrive in the Salt Lake Valley.

Until then, let's collectively hope for a quick end to the winter season, dry roads and a decent tail wind.
